About Vail, Arizona
In June 2017, Sevan broke ground on Safeway’s ground-up full-service grocery store. The 60,000-sq. ft. layout included Starbucks and an in-house pharmacy, along with full-service deli, bakery, and floral departments. The project also included a fuel center with a 700-sq. ft. C-store equipped to provide customers with one-stop needs. “The county of Pima was very helpful throughout the project,” said Sevan Project Executive Bill Homrighausen. “They made our job, as Sevan employees, seamless and enjoyable.”
The duration of the project took less than a year to complete. With extra cooperation from Pima County, Sevan completed the work on schedule. Safeway held its Grand Opening Day on April 4, 2018. “Many of Vail’s citizens came out to support its new opportunity,” said Homrighausen. The location of the new Safeway will now be the center of town where new opportunities can grow and help spark life in the small town of Vail.
