F2F Sevan Marks One Year of Rebuilding Efforts in Sunset Mesa After Devastating California Fires
Malibu, CA (March 05, 2026) — One year after devastating fires tore through Malibu and Pacific Palisades, families in the historic Sunset Mesa community still are working to return home. F2F Sevan, a construction and development firm with deep roots in the Palisades, is helping guide homeowners through one of the most complex rebuilding landscapes Southern California has ever faced.
“Rebuilding after loss is not just about construction - it’s about people,” said Brett Harwin, President of Frame2Finish, part of F2F Sevan. “Our role is to listen, to guide, and to be a steady presence as families navigate both the emotional and technical realities of starting over.”
In Sunset Mesa and across the Palisades, the rebuilding effort has involved far more than simply reconstructing damaged structures. According to Harwin, many properties were left with significant site-related impacts following the fire, resulting in unstable conditions that require reengineered foundations and comprehensive terrain stabilization. Coupled with complex, multi-layered permitting processes and evolving environmental regulations, progress has demanded patience, technical expertise, and close coordination with both city and county agencies.
Despite these challenges, F2F Sevan has successfully guided homeowners through approvals and into construction with each milestone representing more than progress, but hope.
“For families who lost everything, being displaced for over a year has been devastating,” said homeowner Linda Seltzer, who is rebuilding with F2F Sevan. “Every day brings reminders of what we lost. Working with F2F Sevan has lifted a huge weight from our shoulders. We finally feel like we’re moving forward.”
Born and raised in Pacific Palisades, Frame2Finish leadership brings more than two decades of experience building custom homes in the area. That local knowledge has proven essential in helping families all throughout the Palisades community affected by the fires to reimagine safe, resilient homes for the future.
As rebuilding continues into 2026, F2F Sevan is integrating lessons learned over the past year, strengthening building practices, improving coordination, and reinforcing its commitment to restoring the community stronger than before.
