CHALLENGE
After hurricanes slammed the United States and Puerto Rico, many pharmacies were destroyed—leaving people suffering without access to critical prescription medications.
SOLUTION
Walgreens and Sevan came up with the idea of a mobile Rx unit—a pop-up structure that can be easily transported and assembled in one day. The mobile units consist of a 20-by-16-foot room and an 1,100-gallon light tower diesel generator. Inside, each pharmacy is stocked with everything needed to operate a functioning prescription filling unit.
RESULTS
Thousands of residents have benefitted greatly from the mobile pharmacies and had access to all necessary medications. After responding to multiple hurricanes, the Sevan team is always prepared with mobile pharmacies for any type of disaster.
