CHALLENGE
Sprouts sought assistance in removing existing produce refrigerated cases in 12 of its locations and replacing them with new ones. Sprouts experienced challenges due to variations in the scope of work for each produce case, incomplete refrigeration drawings and checks prior to the work and the age of existing equipment.
SOLUTION
Sevan collaborated with the refrigeration contractor to adjust floor sinks, electrical systems, refrigeration lines and overhead soffits for the new equipment. Since the old cases were wider than the new ones, the floor sinks needed to be relocated by 8 inches to comply with code. In some sites, Sevan had to change the power and plumbing locations to align with the orientation of the cases that needed to be flipped. Sevan also expanded refrigeration lines and facilitated the removal of overhead soffits as needed, coordinating with the refrigeration contractor throughout to ensure timely completion of all sites.
RESULTS
Sevan completed the produce case wall replacements for all 12 locations. Sevan’s efficient coordination facilitated the swift completion of each site’s work in a single night.
