CHALLENGE
Sprouts encountered challenges in maintaining the freshness of their fruits, leading to losses in produce inventory. Sprouts conducted an internal audit on their fruit shelf life and found that storing their produce in refrigerated bins would prolong it. Sprouts identified 196 locations where dry bins needed to be removed and replaced with new refrigerated bins.
SOLUTION
Sevan partnered with Sprouts to manage the removal of dry bins and the installation of new refrigerated bins. Sevan ran a new power cord from the electrical box at the back of the store to the front, where it could be plugged in to power the refrigerated cases. During installation, Sevan realized that the power cords needed to be on a dedicated circuit to avoid tripping the breakers. Sevan addressed this issue by revising the cutsheet and coordinating with the general contractor to make the necessary corrections.
RESULTS
Sevan completed the refrigeration bin installation in all 196 locations. The coordination and installation of the new refrigerated bins and dedicated circuits for each store were successfully completed in one night.
