CHALLENGE
Chipotle noticed an increase in online order demand in 2018 and needed to renovate their restaurants to accommodate these orders. Chipotle found that the most efficient way to upgrade their facilities was through kitchen Digital Make Lines (DMLs) and Digital Order Pick Up Shelfs (DOPUS).
SOLUTION
Sevan’s team of surveyors, project managers, and construction experts partnered with Chipotle to enhance locations across nine states for new digital order assets. To minimize disruption, Sevan’s crew worked overnight—installing specialized equipment, remodeling kitchen layouts, and integrating digital displays to replace paper orders.
RESULTS
Sevan installed DOPUS stations at over 1,100 restaurants and DMLs at over 275 restaurants since 2018. Depending on the scope of each site, DMLs and DOPUS stations were installed within 3-5 days. At the end of the second quarter of 2019, Chipotle experienced a 13.2% revenue increase.
