6-Week expedited full-store rebuild prior to Holiday season
A++ Quality Score from IKEA leadership
Secured 3 additional new-build projects for 2025

Challenge
IKEA needed a trusted partner to deliver a high-profile project at its Memphis store ahead of the busy holiday season. The build came with complex plan revisions, a tight timeline, and the need for clear communication, budget control, and seamless collaboration with IKEA’s store and leadership teams. The goal, close an entire store, demo all existing retail conditions, and rebuild the entire store in 6 weeks prior to the Thanksgiving selling season.
Solution
Sevan built a two-shift execution schedule to accommodate the extremely tight requirement. Sevan deployed a consistent, experienced team to lead every phase of the project. From day one, Sevan prioritized alignment—working closely with IKEA’s leadership and store staff, managing subcontractors, and adjusting to numerous scope changes without delay or disruption. Sevan kept IKEA fully informed throughout the project and proactively mitigated risks, including change orders. The project team also supported training recommendations for future IKEA project managers and superintendents to maintain continuity across upcoming builds.
Results
Sevan delivered the Memphis project on time and without surprises—earning an A++ score from IKEA leadership. The final walkthrough confirmed exceptional construction quality, transparent communication, and a strong partnership. Based on this performance, IKEA invited Sevan to support three additional new-build projects in 2025, solidifying Sevan as a preferred partner for future work.
